"Calla Lily Large"

Captivating and breathtaking. The Calla Lily, a flower often overlooked, possess such a smooth appearance. I use color to intensify the lines and movement of the flower. This painting is watercolor and gouache on cold press paper is a large 18 in. x 24in. PRINTS AVAILABLE

"Spirit"

I love the movement in this painting. I don't know how this one came to be...I was at a loss as to what to paint. Armed with graphite, I took to paper and this appeared. Once painted I find it had much more substance than in black and white alone. This is painted in watercolor and gouache and measures 11"x 14"

"Lake House"

Inspired once again from a friend through conversation, I painted this thinking of a picturesque home in an environment untouched. This was a lot of fun for me and is much larger than most of the others. This is painted in gouache and watercolor measuring 18 in. x 24 in.

Nude 5

The more I paint these bold ladies, the more of them I want to paint. I can't help but think that they are an expression of myself. I have been reading about color and their meanings. Notice how there is a cohesive color palette in each of the paintings. This painting, if the color meaning is correct, depicts a piece of me that is yearning for communication, working toward comfort with unconditional love....I don't know, it does describe me. People have many petals. This is one of mine. It amazes me how much of my inner being is expressed in my work.

Nude 4

This one is my favorite of all of them. The colors blend seamlessly and she portrays a sort of innocence. Using the theory of color meaning, this painting expresses my current quest; learning wisdom through intuition and will.

Nude 3

This is a typical Belly dance pose. As these paintings have shown to be a window to my soul, this woman is very close to me. I am a very soft-hearted person with a lot to give. I belly dance and paint to relieve stress and keep my wits about me. The purple and pink in this painting are very strong colors. To me, they signify a femininity that only a kind woman can exude.

Nude 2

She looks so confident, strong and beautiful.

Nude 1

This is the first in my nude series. This woman is modest and exposed at the same time. She is aware of her body and is not afraid to have it seen. I chose the blue background to help convey the feeling of calm. This was painted using watercolor and gouache on cold press paper and measures 11in. X 14in.

"Chicago"

This picture was inspired by a friend of mine. In casual conversation it was suggested that my next painting be a cityscape in the evening. Being a country girl, I had to Google pictures of cities at night and I came across a photo of Chicago. It was so beautiful! The colors were amazing! Thanks Tuna!
This painting was completed on Jan. 16, 2008. It is watercolor and gouache. 9 in. x 12 in. (I will do another cityscape soon, only next time, it will be much bigger :)

"Strong"

She could be a dancer, a mother, a friend. To me, she represents that person that is inside all of us. The part of us that makes us smile on a really bad day or laugh so hard you cry, for no reason at all. The inner strength of well being, healthy and expressive. :)

Glasswing-Watercolor

I am fascinated with the Glasswing Butterfly. Notice how the transparent wings give this painting a fantasy like quality....I love it! :)
